Since completing 1973’s ‘Worried mind’, John Mayall fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Lead single “Worried mind” and “Keep our country green” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. John Mayall was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from John Mayall and Moving on together. IT makes me wanna dance!
Keep our country green is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Chrismas 71 is just simply stunning. After few listenings I started to like Things go wrong more and more. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Moving on. A fantastic track full of wonder. After about the third Red sky listen through, I began to believe this song is John Mayall’s essence. Song Reason is actually a funny song. Hight pressure living motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others.
