Helmut Lotti had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Self-described as Pop with lots of words, Helmut Lotti comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since Helmut Lotti last CD (Classics out of Africa) on EMI Records back in 2004, I have felt a massive void in my life. Classics out of Africa constantly brilliant.
Asimbonanga - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Malaika is the funkiest number on the album. One listen to the sheer beauty of Circle Of Life was all I needed. I listened to the opening track Qongqothwane and liked it a lot. Helmut Lotti emotions are reflected through The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Shosholoza is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Helmut Lotti rocks harder than ever with Umakoti. Jikela Emaweni Hamba is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Tula Tula is worth the money. From the moment you listen to Sarie Marais you’re hooked. Album opener Kumbaya My Lord is a bright, upbeat ditty. Pata Pata - A strong beat. African Sunrise is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day.
