This album has some very good songs like Wassive and Ma Ya. Habib Koite and Bamada was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Habib Koite and Bamada and Ma Ya together. Lead single “Wassive” and “Ma Ya” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is in perfect progression from Habib Koite and Bamada!
Ma Ya - To me, this is the best song on the Ma Ya. Bitile - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. After about the third Foro Bana listen through, I began to believe this song is Habib Koite and Bamada’s essence. Sarayama is so unique, as each one of the songs is. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Mara Kaso stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Voice and instruments in Pula Ku complement each other. Komine is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. I Mada one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Mansane Cisse is my favorite song on Ma Ya.
