While no new DJ Oetzi album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2007 tour in South America. Lead single “Ein Stern (der deinen Namen tragt)” and “Hintermoser Kathi (A Dirndl wie a Zelt)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is no doubt that DJ Oetzi has talent. Sternstunden constantly brilliant.
Vocals of DJ Oetzi in Hintermoser Kathi (A Dirndl wie a Zelt) really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. DJ Oetzi has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. In Biabal in Mir the music gets its power. Nice and different song. DJ Oetzi offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Die Fischerin vom Bodensee - For me, this is the best of the album. The first time I listened to Was Liebe war, muss Liebe bleib’n I was struck by its marvelous sound. Das Kufsteiner Lied is a medium tempo tune. I can’t stop humming along Rosamunde. The sound of Gute Freunde (der 12. Mann) is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. La Ola Walzer is simply cool. Bitte gib mir eine Chance is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Ein Stern (der deinen Namen tragt) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
