five years ago, Bill Douglas briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Emerald Dawn”. While no new Bill Douglas album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2001 tour in Australia. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Bill Douglas’s album A Place Called Morning falls to No. 2 with 889,000, a sales slide of 83%. Check it every song is worth the money for the A Place Called Morning CD!
Emerald Dawn is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Bill Douglas released so far. First time I heard Forest Hymn was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Morning Song is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Tara (Choral Version) is almost impossible to review. Voice and instruments in Lovely Is The Rose complement each other. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Wings Of The Wind gives taste of what makes Bill Douglas special as a musician. What sets Spectrum Of Violet apart is Bill Douglas’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. A Place Called Morning is a striking and quite long song. Intermezzo is the perfect blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Music and lyrics of Sadness Of The Moon creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. I now have Rise Up, My Love as one of my personal favorites.
